Chocolate Chip Cookies

The classic, made with fresh-milled sifted wheat flour for a deeper, nuttier cookie.

Ingredients

3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup butter, softened 1 tsp vanilla 1 egg 2 cups Fyler Farms sifted wheat flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix the sugars, butter, vanilla, and egg in a large bowl. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt (the dough will be stiff). Stir in the chocolate chips.
  3. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 8–10 minutes or until light brown — the centers will still be soft. Cool slightly, then move to a wire rack.

Tips: Add 1 cup chopped nuts with the chips, or cut both sugars to 1/2 cup for a less-sweet cookie.
